After a long summer hiatus and our unfortunate cancellation of the September meeting, I'm very happy to announce the next meeting of the Southern Connecticut Vegetarian Society.  The October SCVS meeting will be on Sunday, October 15th, 2006 at 5:00pm. 

October's meeting will once again be at the North Haven Congregational Church at 28 Church Street, North Haven CT.  Click here for a map to the meeting.

At this month's meeting we'll be discussing the future of SCVS, and how we want to operate in 2007. Please come and help us decide if we should remain at the North Haven Congregational Church, return to our old stomping grounds of Edge of the Woods in New Haven, or try something different. Everyone's input is valuable so please come even if you've never attended an SCVS meeting before. 

We'll also be talking about the 11th Annual Boston Vegetarian Food Festival. It is a wonderful event that many of us have gone to for years. We'll talk about which speakers people might enjoy most, strategies for getting through all the sampling tables in one piece, and maybe arranging a carpool if there is interest.  The Food Festival is on Saturday, October 21st (the Saturday following our meeting) from 10am - 6pm. For the potluck, please bring a dish serving 4-6. All dishes at our potlucks must be vegan (all vegetarian, of course, with no dairy, eggs or honey please) so as to be enjoyed by the largest group of members. Please bring a slip of paper with the ingredients to help anyone with allergies or food sensitivities. Remember to bring a serving spoon as well. You can be creative! Enjoy the flavors of the season and socialize with vegetarians from throughout our area.
