SCVS May Meeting Announcement

Next SCVS Meeting

Date: Sunday May 21st
Time: 5:00pm - 8:00pm

Location:
North Haven Congregational Church
28 Church St, North Haven
Hello Everyone,

It's that time again. Time for Soy Delicious? No, not that time! It's time to announce the next meeting of the Southern Connecticut Vegetarian Society.  The May SCVS meeting will be on Sunday, May 21st, 2006 at 5:00pm.

May's meeting will once again be at the North Haven Congregational Church at 28 Church Street, North Haven CTClick here for a map to the meeting.

We've moved the meeting to the third Sunday of the month to allow us to better organize the meetings and bring new speakers to town. We won't be having a guest speaker this month. The meeting will be primarily about sharing food and discussing what events are coming up this summer. Since it's starting to feel like summer, lets get the summer foods out and have some exciting flavors to enjoy together.

In June we'll be having Isa Chandra Moskowitz, author of Vegan with a Vengeance, up from Brooklyn to do a Vegan Cupcake Cooking Workshop! Isa has a new book on the way all about vegan cupcakes and this should be an interesting, and delicious, event. Since we need to provide ingredients for the event, as well as cover a small expense to use the kitchen, a few dollars will be needed from each person who wants to take part. The exact cost will be in the June announcement, but please try to come to the May meeting so we can get an idea of how many people are interested.

For the putluck, please bring a dish serving 4-6. All dishes at our potlucks must be vegan (all vegetarian, of course, with no dairy, eggs or honey please) so as to be enjoyed by the largest group of members. Please bring a slip of paper with the ingredients to help anyone with allergies or food sensitivities. Remember to bring a serving spoon as well. You can be creative! Enjoy the flavors of the season and socialize with vegetarians from throughout our area.

Take care,

Joshua
