Can I say Seasons Greetings yet? Is it too early?

I hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving and enjoyed some time with family, maybe a football game and a day off from work too. I'm almost embarrassed to say it, but I'm potluck-ed out! In that theme, we're going to do something a little different for December's meeting of the Southern Connecticut Vegetarian Society instead of our normal monthly potluck and meeting. Potlucks will resume on the second Sunday of January, 2006.

In association with the Northern Connecticut Vegetarian Society and the newly formed Northeastern Connecticut Vegetarian Society, we are organizing a social gathering at China Pan Restaurant in Farmington. China Pan is not a vegetarian-only establishment, if only we could be that lucky! But they do have an extensive vegetarian selection featuring vegan mock-meat dishes and vegetable entrees. Vegan citrus  spare ribs anyone? The restaurant is located at 1600 S East Rd., Farmington. That's near the West Farms Mall with easy access from Rt. 9 & I-84. The gathering will be informal. We had explored reserving tables and having a one-price, planned meal. However, there was not enough of a response to initial announcements and none of the vegetarian societies could afford the cost of covering no-shows. So instead we're going to swarm upon China Pan en mass and sit together, with old friends or new ones, and order individually. Food is reasonably priced. For about $20 you can get a good entree and an appetizer. They provide tea with the meal. I suggest that you bring cash as it will be difficult to split the bill and charge it.
