Over the winter months of 2004 SCVS met, but unfortunately there are
records missing of the original announcement. It was during this time
that vegetarian historian Rynn Berry came to speak about vegetarian
myths. Mr. Berry discussed the myth that Adolph Hitler was a vegeterian
and also spoke about the argument for why Jesus should be considered a
vegetarian. A potluck meal was shared by all and Mr. Berry sold and
signed copies of his books. . Also during the winter of 2004 SCVS and our dear friends at the Northern Connecticut Vegetarian Society (cleverly named "NCVS"), met for a joint social meeting at Alchemy Juice Bar Cafe in Hartford.
There were some communication problems but Alchemy stepped up was able
to feed the hungry vegetarians and a connecticut vegetarian winter
tradition was started.
