Hello Everyone, November
is almost here and soon Thanksgiving will be upon us. The holiday
season can be a tough time for vegetarians, but it doesn't have to be a
lonely time. Lets all get together and share food and fun at a
"Compassionate Thanksgiving Potluck" as November's meeting has been
themed. The November SCVS meeting will be on Sunday, November 13th, 2005 at 5:00pm November's meeting will once again be at the North Haven Congregational Church at 28 Church Street, North Haven CT.
If you have any trouble finding the location, please feel free to call
my cell phone at (203) 627-1070 and I'll try to direct you. Click here for a map to the meeting. This
month's meeting will be a vegan potluck, as just mentioned, and feature
SCVS member Jennifer Mezzio talking to us about Yoga! Jennifer Graduated
from Teikyo Post University with a B.S. in Management Information
Systems and a minor in Management. She currently works in Trumbull
at Unilever and is a supplement distributor for Market America.
Being in the corporate environment everyday and experiencing personal
trauma in 2003, Jennifer turned to yoga as a way of reducing stress.
The positive effects yoga brought her dramatically changed her life.
Jennifer wanted to develop her practice further and to share yoga with
others. In 2005 she became a certified yoga teacher as well as a Reiki
Practitioner In addition, she continuously studies both nutrition and
alternative healing and strongly believes in the mind/body connection.
Jennifer’s mantra is that yoga is for every BODY and everybody can benefit from Yoga. She teaches at her home in Waterbury, CT. and at Balance Body Wellness Center in Naugatuck, CT Please
bring a dish serving 5-7. All dishes at our potlucks must be vegan (all
vegetarian, of course, with no dairy, eggs or honey please) so as to be
enjoyed by the largest group of members. Please bring a slip of paper
with the ingredients to help anyone with allergies or food
sensitivities. Remember to bring a serving spoon as well. You can be
creative! Enjoy the flavors of the fall and socialize with vegetarians
from throughout our area. Take care, Joshua |
