August '04 - Potluck with guest speaker Print E-mail
On August 15th, 2004 George Eisman (VegForLife.com) gave a talk on vegetarian nutrition to the Southern Connecticut Vegetarian Society. Our thanks go out to Mr. Eisman for his time and we hope to have him back in Connecticut before too long. The event also featured a vegan potluck meal, very tasty!

Original Announcement:

Dear friends,
Hi! Hope everyone's having a good summer, and enjoying the warm weather while it lasts!
Please remember our next potluck event is right around the corner!
Sunday, Aug. 15, 2 p.m. (that's 2 Sundays from now!) we will have a VEGAN POTLUCK with SPEAKER George Eisman, R.D. at Edge of the Woods Grocery Store, 379 Whalley Ave., NEW HAVEN.
Mr. Eisman will give a talk entitled "How to be a healthy vegan." Find out all the answers to your pressing nutritional questions and uncover new techniques for making mealtime nutritious as well as delicious.
Mr. Eisman is considered one of the nation's foremost educators on vegetarian nutrition. He has served as a faculty member in dietetics and nutrition at several universities and colleges and created the first accredited program in vegetarian studies.
Information about this event can also be obtained at: www.vegforlife.org.
As always, please bring a VEGAN MEAL to the potluck, with servings for 4 to 6 people.
Also, please bring your OWN DRINKING CUP, as I am trying to make these events environmentally friendly. Thanks!
There is OFFSTREET PARKING at Edge of the Woods. But EOW shares a parking lot with other businesses. So get there early if you don't want to walk too far!
If you need DIRECTIONS, let me know.
This event has been publicized more than most of our events, as vegforlife.org has sent publicity flyers to area media outlets. So it should be a good turnout!
Hope to see you there, and as always, email me with any questions.

Thanks,
Peter
