FAQ: Potluck Meals Print E-mail
Most SCVS meetings feature a potluck meal. Members should bring a vegan dish to serve 6-8.  SCVS is not a vegan organization, per se. But all food brought to the potlucks must be vegan. That  means they cannot contain any animal products including, but not limited to, meat, poultry, seafood, dairy, eggs, and honey. Dropping these ingredients and preparing delicious, healthy meals is easier than you might think! We choose to have the dishes be vegan because it is the common denominator. Everyone can eat and enjoy vegan dishes. To help our friends with alergies or food sensitivites, please bring an ingredient list or recipe.

FAQ: Membership Print E-mail
Membership in SCVS is open to the public regardless of location or current diet.  No fee is required to attend SCVS potlucks/events. But all participants of the vegan potlucks are asked to bring a vegan meal. Some events do feature a guest speaker or host organization and donations to support their work is greatly appreciated.

FAQ: What is SCSV? Print E-mail
SCVS is a local, community-based organization formed with the aim of supporting the adoption of a vegetarian diet by residents of southern Connecticut.  SCVS started in Jan. 26, 2003 (superbowl Sunday!) We had about 30 people attend that first day. And the interest in SCVS continues to grow.
