The Northern Connecticut Vegetarian Society seeks to advocate a
compassionate and healthful diet. They wish to provide support to vegetarians by building a community for them and all those interested in the benefits of vegetarianism.
Monthly Vegan Potlucks featuring a speaker
are held at Carniglia Senior Center, 41 Oak Street, Windsor Locks. Free
parking is available in a large lot across from the Center.

NCVS
potluck with Zaac Chaves
who is an uber-environmentalist known for his long-distance biking, freegan
antics, wild mushroom knowledge, couch surfing, and home-made tire shoes.
He has bicycled down to Florida and up to Canada. Zaac will be
discussing long-distance riding on a vegan diet, and how it not only relates
to other cruelty-free practices(such as those strategies outlined on
freegan.info), but how these are all encompassing a single practice of both
a cruelty-free and fulfilling lifestyle. This will be a discussion
style presentation for all willing attendees to contribute to. Bring
a healthy vegan dish to share along with a note
card listing your
ingredients and your name. Also, please bring your place setting (plate,
cup, and utensils). A donation of $5 per adult is requested;
children are free. The Carniglia Senior
Center, 41 Oak Street, Windsor Locks, CT, is the location for

potluck with Curtis and Kristin Griffing of Healthpath, Windsor. They
will show how to live a lifestyle that promotes healing and health, lose
unwanted weight, create stamina, eliminate sickness, eat food that control
emotion and give power to the brain, sort out facts from propaganda.
They will demo live/raw delicious foods and provide samples .
Bring a healthy vegan dish (live foods if possible) to share along with a note
card listing your
ingredients and your name. Also, please bring your place setting (plate,
cup, and utensils). A donation of $7 per adult is requested;
children are free. The Carniglia Senior

Evening. NCVS will be entertained by Celtic Band featuring Lisa
Furman and Chris Teskey Band. Naturally, attendees will
bring a healthy vegan Celtic dish
(if possible) to share along with a note

cup, and utensils). A donation of $10 per adult is requested;
children are free. Reservations are requested as this is a popular

Northampton
Center For The Arts is celebrating Soyalangwul by featuring Shokazoba, DJ
Brando, Drum Circle and Open Stage.
Soyalangwul is the winter solstice ceremony of
the Hopi Indians, known as the “The Peaceful Ones”. The purpose
of the ritual is to ceremonially bring the sun back from its long winter
slumber. We will begin the festivities with open stage
performances themed around solstice and renewal, transitioning into a drum
circle led by Kwame from Ghana, Africa and the Shokazoba rhythm
section. The second half of the evening will open up the dance floor to the
global beat styles of DJ
Brando and followed by an Afrobeat jam session to wake up
the sun featuring Shokazoba!
Food and drinks will be available from Oh Sweet Mama's Vegan Bakery and Raw
